Brief Description  Attack of the Crab Monsters is a 1957 independent sci-fi horror film produced and directed by Roger Corman. Clocking in at 62 minutes, it follows a second scientific expedition sent to a remote Pacific island to find out what happened to the first group investigating nuclear testing. They become marooned when their plane explodes, facing giant, radioactive, intelligent, and telepathic crabs that absorb the minds of their victims.

Plot:
A second team of scientists arrives on a remote, uncharted Pacific atoll. Their mission is to investigate the total disappearance of the first expedition, who were studying the fallout of recent nuclear weapons tests. Upon landing, the team notices an eerie, complete lack of animal life on the island. Shortly after their arrival, the seaplane that brought them mysteriously explodes, leaving them completely stranded. They soon discover the culprits: giant, mutated crabs transformed by atomic radiation. These creatures possess terrifying traits. Their cell structure has fused with high-energy particles, making them virtually immune to standard gunfire and explosives. When a crab consumes a human, it absorbs the victim's mind, memories, and consciousness. The crabs use the disembodied, ghostly voices of the dead scientists to taunt the survivors, lure them into traps, and broadcast thoughts directly into their heads.

The monsters are utilizing a unique ability to emit energy that dissolves the solid rock foundations of the island. This causes continuous earthquakes and landslides, systematically sinking the atoll into the ocean to ensure the humans cannot escape. One by one, the crew members are picked off, and their voices are added to the hive mind of the primary monster—a giant crab named "Hinch". With the island reduced to a tiny fraction of its original size, the surviving scientists realize the monsters intend to breed and swim to populated continents to feed. In a final desperate stand, the remaining protagonist, Dale Drewer, leverages the monster's weakness: electricity. He manages to topple an electrical broadcast tower directly onto the final giant crab. The massive surge of voltage disrupts the creature's unstable atomic cell structure, destroying it and allowing the final survivors to be rescued.
