Brief Description  The Curse of the Aztec Mummy (La Maldición de la Momia Azteca) is a 64-minute, black-and-white Mexican horror-adventure film released on December 11, 1957. Directed by Rafael Portillo, it is the second installment in the iconic Aztec Mummy trilogy. The plot follows the criminal mastermind Dr. Krupp (also known as "The Bat") as he tries to steal the sacred jewels of the Aztec princess Xochitl by hypnotizing her modern-day reincarnation, Flor. Flor's fiancé, Dr. Eduardo Almada, and the masked wrestling superhero El Ángel must rescue her and stop the awakened warrior mummy, Popoca.

Plot:
The film picks up immediately following the events of the first movie (The Aztec Mummy). The brilliant but deeply evil scientist Dr. Krupp (who operates a criminal syndicate under the alias "The Bat") is in police custody. However, during a prison transfer, Krupp's loyal thugs orchestrate a violent breakout. A heroic, masked wrestler named "The Angel" intervenes to stop the escape but fails, and Krupp returns to his secret hideout. The Angel later visits the home of Dr. Eduardo Almada and provides the family with a wristwatch radio, promising to protect them if Krupp targets them.

Dr. Krupp remains obsessed with acquiring an ancient Aztec breastplate and bracelet. These artifacts feature inscriptions that act as a map to a massive, hidden Aztec treasure. Because Dr. Almada reburied the artifacts to keep them safe, Krupp needs a way to find them. Krupp's gang kidnaps Almada’s fiancée, Flor. Because Flor is the modern-day reincarnation of Xochitl (an Aztec maiden executed for loving a warrior), Krupp uses past-life hypnotic regression to force her back into a trance. Through her ancient memories, she reveals the exact location of the tomb. Krupp then lures Dr. Almada into a trap to force him to translate the Aztec inscriptions.

"The Angel" arrives at Krupp's hideout to rescue Dr. Almada but is overwhelmed by Krupp's henchmen. Krupp locks the masked wrestler in a deadly chamber featuring a retractable floor over a pit of live snakes. The Angel uses his wristwatch radio to contact Almada's teenage brother, who arrives just in time to manipulate the hideout's controls and save him. The Angel and Almada escape and race to the ancient Aztec tomb. They arrive just as Krupp’s men disturb the tomb to steal the breastplate and bracelet. The desecration awakens Popoca, the living Aztec Mummy who is cursed to guard the treasure for eternity. In the chaotic melee inside the tomb, Krupp's gang manages to recapture Almada and The Angel, stripping the wrestler of his mask and revealing that he is actually Almada's supposedly cowardly assistant, Pinacate!

Back at the villain's headquarters, Krupp prepares to eliminate his prisoners and claim his ultimate prize—planning to use the Aztec wealth to finance experiments for human immortality. However, Popoca the Mummy tracks the stolen artifacts directly to Krupp's hideout. The unstoppable, undead warrior breaches the defenses, brushing off gunfire. In the ultimate confusion, Almada, Flor, and Pinacate escape their bonds. Popoca corners the evil Dr. Krupp and his henchmen, dealing violent justice to the grave robbers and reclaiming the sacred Aztec artifacts.
