Brief Description  The Abominable Snowman is a 1957 British fantasy-horror film directed by Val Guest and produced by [Hammer Films]. Adapted by Nigel Kneale from his 1955 BBC teleplay The Creature, the movie stars Peter Cushing as a kindly English botanist and Forrest Tucker as a cynical American entrepreneur who clash ethically while hunting the legendary Yeti in the Himalayas.

Plot:
Dr. John Rollason (Peter Cushing), a kindly English botanist, is staying at a remote Tibetan monastery with his wife Helen to study rare mountain herbs. He is secretly awaiting an American expedition leader, Tom Friend (Forrest Tucker). Despite explicit warnings from the monastery’s High Lama, Rollason joins Friend's trek up into the peaks. Rollason believes it is a purely scientific quest to discover the legendary Yeti. He quickly learns that Friend is actually a ruthless American showman who wants to exploit, trap, and monetize the creature. As they climb higher, a member of the party, McNee, is driven to hysteria by a strange telepathic pull and is injured by one of Friend's own steel traps, eventually falling to his death. Shortly after, the expedition's trapper, Ed Shelley (Robert Brown), shoots and kills a massive Yeti.

The team places the dead beast in a cave as bait to capture a living specimen. However, they soon realize the remaining Yetis are intelligent, possess psychic abilities, and are actively hunting the group down to reclaim their fallen companion. : One by one, the crew falls victim to their own panic, greed, and the freezing cold. Friend attempts to trigger an avalanche to trap a Yeti, but the echo of his own gun seals his fate under the snow. Rollason is the sole survivor, rescued by his wife and the High Lama. Recognizing that the Yetis are an ancient, superior, and peaceful race waiting out humanity's self-destruction, Rollason lies to the world upon his return, claiming they found no evidence of the creature.
