Brief Description  Directed by Roger Corman and released in March 1957, The Undead is a low-budget psychological horror-fantasy film. Despite its misleading title, the movie features no zombies or vampires; instead, it follows Diana Love, a prostitute hypnotized by a psychic researcher who accidentally strands her soul in a medieval past life.

Plot:
The story kicks off in modern-day 1957. An ethically questionable parapsychologist named Quintus Ratcliff (Val Dufour) seeks to prove his radical theories on reincarnation to his skeptical former professor, Dr. Olinger. Quintus hires a cynical Brooklyn streetwalker named Diana Love (Pamela Duncan) for a hypnosis experiment. Quintus successfully places Diana into a deep hypnotic trance, causing her mind to regress centuries back into the Middle Ages. Her consciousness inhabits her own past incarnation: a medieval woman named Helene, who is locked in a tower and scheduled to be beheaded the next morning under false accusations of witchcraft. Through their shared psychic link, modern-day Diana manages to telepathically guide Helene to escape her prison. However, cheating death triggers a catastrophic domino effect:

By evading execution, Helene begins rewriting the timeline. If Helene survives, she alters the lineage of future generations, meaning Diana will never be born. A genuinely wicked, jealous witch named Livia (Allison Hayes) covets Helene’s lover, the noble knight Pendragon (Richard Garland). Livia—who can shapeshift into a black cat—teams up with Satan himself and a mischievous imp sidekick (Billy Barty) to ensure Helene is recaptured and killed. Realizing that tinkering with history threatens the very fabric of society, Quintus manages to project his own consciousness back to the Dark Ages to intervene. Ultimately, Helene must willingly accept her execution to preserve the timeline and save Diana’s future existence. In a tragic twist, Quintus's wholesome but reckless attempts to alter fate leave his own consciousness permanently trapped in the past.
