Brief Description  Released in August 1956, The Beast of Hollow Mountain is a pioneering "Weird West" horror film. It combines a traditional cattle-ranch melodrama set in rural Mexico with a monster feature about a carnivorous, stop-motion dinosaur (Tyrannosaurus rex). Based on a story treatment by stop-motion legend Willis O'Brien, the 79-minute film was co-directed by Edward Nassour and Ismael Rodríguez, starring Guy Madison and Patricia Medina.

Plot:
Jimmy Ryan (Guy Madison) is an American cowboy running a cattle ranch in a remote region of Mexico with his partner Felipe Sanchez. Jimmy finds his livestock vanishing at an alarming rate near "Hollow Mountain," an area flanked by a massive swamp. Local villagers believe a mythical curse plagues the mountain, but Jimmy remains skeptical. Jimmy clashes with a wealthy local rancher, Enrique Ríos, who resents the American's presence. Enrique is deeply jealous because his fiancée, Sarita (Patricia Medina), secretly harbors romantic feelings for Jimmy. Enrique actively attempts to sabotage Jimmy's business to drive him out of Mexico.

The ongoing drought causes the swamp surrounding the mountain to recede. Jimmy’s alcoholic ranch hand, Pancho, wanders into the lowlands and is killed by an unseen force. Pancho's young son, Panchito, ventures into the swamp seeking vengeance, prompting Sarita and Jimmy to follow. The monster is revealed to be a prehistoric, carnivorous Tyrannosaurus Rex. The creature attacks a small stone shack where Sarita and Panchito are trapped. Jimmy arrives on horseback to battle the dinosaur. During the chaos, a vengeful Enrique is caught in the dinosaur's claws. Jimmy lures the beast into the deep quicksand of the swamp, where the dinosaur is permanently pulled under to its death.
