Brief Description  [House of Terror] (originally titled La Casa del Terror) is a 1960 Mexican horror-comedy film directed by Gilberto Martínez Solares. It stars Mexican comedian Germán Valdés as the lazy night watchman Casimiro and American horror icon Lon Chaney Jr. as a resurrected mummy who transforms into a werewolf. The film functions as an affectionate parody of Universal classic monster movies, blending slapstick comedy with dark gothic horror.

Plot:
The story follows Casimiro (played by Tin-Tan), a bumbling and extraordinarily lethargic night watchman at a local wax museum of horrors. Casimiro believes his constant extreme fatigue is just his natural laziness. However, what he does not know is that his boss, Profesor Sebastián (Yerye Beirute), is a mad scientist. Profesor Sebastián and his henchmen operate a secret laboratory beneath the wax museum. The Professor is obsessed with uncovering the secrets to raising the dead. Whenever Casimiro dozes off on the job, the Professor secretly drains his blood to use as raw material for his reanimation experiments.

Up to this point, the Professor’s resurrection experiments have been massive failures, leaving him with a growing pile of dead bodies. To dispose of the evidence and hide his crimes, the Professor covers the dead corpses in wax and places them upstairs on display as new exhibits in the museum. Casimiro is frequently unnerved by how quickly the creepy museum exhibit is growing. The plot shifts when news breaks that the mummified body of a man has been discovered in an Egyptian sarcophagus. Believing this ancient specimen holds the key to his research, the Professor and his henchmen steal the mummy and bring it down to the secret lab.

The Professor attempts his resurrection procedure on the mummy (played by Lon Chaney Jr.). Initially, the experiment appears to be another total failure, and the lifeless mummy is left unattended in the lab. The experiment actually succeeds, but with a massive catch. When the moon rises, the resurrected mummy does not just wake up—it transforms into a raging werewolf. Because Chaney Jr. did not speak Spanish, his character is entirely mute, communicating purely through physical menace, growls, and heavy panting. The werewolf breaks free from the laboratory, sparking absolute chaos. The climax features high-energy, slapstick-filled chase sequences through the wax museum as the terrified, bumbling Casimiro tries to survive the monster, save his love interest Paquita (Yolanda Varela), and put an end to his boss's mad operations.
