Brief Description  The Angry Red Planet (1959) is a low-budget American science fiction film directed by Ib Melchior. It follows the first manned flight to Mars aboard the spaceship MR-1 (or RS-1). The ship returns to Earth with only two surviving crew members, setting up a tense framing story of trauma, alien infection, and planetary warning.

Plot:
Earth's first manned spaceship to Mars, the MR-1, is presumed lost until it is recovered in space and brought down via remote control. The survivors of the original four-person crew, only two survive. Colonel Tom O’Bannion is comatose, his arm overtaken by a grotesque, parasitic alien growth. Dr. Iris Ryan is conscious but suffers from trauma-induced amnesia. To discover a cure for Tom's infected arm, military doctors interrogate Iris. As her memories unblock, the harrowing events on Mars are revealed via flashback.

Two crew members (Chief Sam Jacobs and Professor Theodore Gettell) are killed by the hostile ecosystem. Before escaping a localized forcefield, the remaining crew receives a telepathic message. The Martian intelligence reveals they have observed humanity's violent history and issues a stern warning: Earth is permitted to leave, but humans must never return to Mars, or Earth will be utterly destroyed.

Martian Flora and Fauna: A giant, predatory plant with tentacles traps and nearly consumes Dr. Ryan before the crew intervenes. Rat-Bat-Spider: A grotesque hybrid creature attacks the explorers, resulting in the death of Professor Gettell. Giant Amoeba: A massive, gelatinous entity pursues the remaining crew and destroys their escape options.Alien Intelligence: Towering, grotesque Martian rulers eventually confront the humans and trap them temporarily.
