Brief Description  House of Frankenstein (1944) is a landmark Universal Pictures horror film directed by Erle C. Kenton, notable for being the first "monster rally" movie to combine Dracula, the Wolf Man, and Frankenstein's Monster into a single narrative. Serving as a direct sequel to Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943), the film stars horror icon Boris Karloff as a mad scientist rather than the monster, alongside Lon Chaney Jr. as the tragic Wolf Man, and John Carradine as Count Dracula.

Plot:
The Escape and Dracula’s Revenge: The film opens with the deranged Dr. Gustav Niemann (Boris Karloff) and his hunchbacked assistant Daniel (J. Carrol Naish) escaping from prison during a storm. They kill and replace the owner of a traveling "chamber of horrors". Niemann locates the actual skeleton of Count Dracula (John Carradine), pulls the stake from his ribs, and revives him. Niemann uses Dracula to murder the man who originally put Niemann in prison, but Dracula is quickly cornered by police and perishes in the sunlight.

The Ruins of Frankenstein: Act two follows Niemann and Daniel to the flooded ruins of Frankenstein's castle in Vasaria. There, they excavate the frozen bodies of Larry Talbot (The Wolf Man) and the Frankenstein Monster. Niemann promises to cure Talbot of his werewolf curse and promises Daniel a new, beautiful body using brain-transplant surgery.

The Tragic Climax: Romances and betrayals unravel the plan. Daniel falls in love with a gypsy girl, Ilonka (Elena Verdugo), but she falls for Larry Talbot. Knowing his fate, Talbot begs her to shoot him with a silver bullet during his werewolf transformation, which she does before dying from her injuries. Heartbroken and enraged that Niemann lied to him about a new body, Daniel turns on the doctor. The fully revived Frankenstein Monster breaks free, throws Daniel out a window, and carries the helpless Niemann into a burning quicksand bog where they both sink.
